Today we celebrated the official and final adoption of Faye Elyse Pfeifer. It was the culmination of a long, exciting and enriching journey that introduced us to new friends and the most wonderful addition to our family. We have many people to thank who supported us along the way, many of whom were in attendance today at the court hearing (pictured below- our parents, our attorney Kaye, each other, and of course Julie and Montana who gave us the greatest gift imaginable - Faye).
The hearing was a little more involved than we expected - didn't know we would have to swear under oath or take the stand to testify. The judge was great and ended the proceedings with some very kind and sincere words to both Tina and me and to the birth family about our choices to pursue adoption and come together to ensure a wonderful life for Faye. Then it was done and we were officially a family of three.
