Quadra Island

We set off last week on a somewhat local holiday to Quadra Island, a Discovery Island east of Vancouver Island, across the water from Campbell River. Getting there was half the fun, 2 ferries and 3 hours in the car. On Vancouver Island we stopped in Coombs at the Coombs Market, a culinary paradise, small version of Granville Island with goats on the roof...where people feed their dogs ice cream in cones. Quadra was beautiful. We stayed in a cabin on the beach at Taku Resort, lovely place with amazing views. Our days were very relaxing, easy and reminded me of camp. It was great family fun.

Toot toot Taku playground, probably highlight of the trip for the girls (and maybe ours too as it kept them very busy & happy), if it wasn't their highlight it was where they spent most of their time. And it was in view from our cabin.

Our beautiful, smart, sweet dog Pepper. She brings us such joy. 

This is how we rolled...

During our bike ride we stopped to cool off at a tidal pool. We cooled off but did not go in further than our feet because there were crabs everywhere, almost as if the ground was moving. They didn't bite or at least very hard, just tickled your toes.

Pepper as usual was great, as if we had been training her all along how to run beside us on bikes. She slept quite well after this day.
