Speaking of awesome

Maddie competed in her first speaking contest last night. We are so proud of her! Although she did not place, she won by getting up in front of 30 people & delivering a great speech that she wrote herself! 

There were 85 participants in grades 4-7. Maddie is in grade 3, but found a loop home as she is in grade 4 at Temple Sholom and competed under Sunday school. The contest gives you several Jewish topics to choose from or you can pick your own Jewish topic. Maddie chose, What it’s like to be celiac on Shabbat. She was so nervous, we all were, but she got up there& delivered! She is disappointed she did not place and is already thinking about next year!
