For my birthday, David and I did a big skate ski with another couple & we survived....13k (26k total) with 506m (about 170 stories in a building high) elevation gain. It took us 4 hours to get to lunch at the backcountry lodge, Journeyman, (took us no more than 10 minutes to eat). The lodge served us lunch of soup, sandwich & cookie...best thing we have ever eaten!! Lunch is served between 12-2:30pm, we arrived at 2:20pm and departed at 2:45pm. We also had to be back down by 4pm. It took us an hour & 15 min to get back down…perfect timing! It was SO hard, yes we are a little sore & no we are not skate skiing anytime soon! David asked me why I couldn't be more into sedentary activities 😂
