Little Hero

We were at the park on the weekend enjoying a beautiful sunny day.  Faye was getting hungry for lunch and was conserving her energy in my lap. Maddie and Daddy were busy climbing the big spider web (large climbing structure consisting mainly of ropes). Maddie is pretty confident on it and goes almost halfway up. Daddy made his way to the top and was enjoying the view when Maddie lost her footing and was dangling 3 ft in the air. She started screaming bloody murder.

You need to understand the park was full of people (it was sunny and we had seen nothing but rain for a week straight)! So, Maddie was screaming, I can't pick Maddie up right now so I yell for David. As David was making his way down the structure (and not another sole in the park moved a muscle) our little hero emerged. Without anyone suggesting it, Faye leapt into action to save her sister. Faye was the first one there and said,"I will catch you, Maddie." Maddie of course let go and Faye caught her and placed her gently on the ground.

We don't encourage Faye to pick up her sister, they are only 5 or 6 lbs apart. But seeing all the other moms and dads just standing there watching Maddie scream for help and my little 4 1/2 year old was the only one that took action was pretty heroic!
