Staycation
We just completed an epic week, the ultimate family staycation! David started a new job, outside of the home this week so we spent his last week of freedom enjoying each other and Vancouver. We certainly miss eating with him at lunch and seeing him for short periods throughout the day. The girls got a new tricycle, they love it and are slowly learning how to steer. Faye at least holds on to the handles and pedals sometimes. Maddie on the other hand kicks back (well, her feet can't yet touch the pedals) and rarely touches the handlebars! We had our neighbors over for dinner and you can see Penny with the girls below, they adore her probably because she adores them. Faye is learning about money, coins particularly and is still a bit confused with the penny coin as it is Penny, our neighbor's name. We are part of a community garden across the street from our house and the girls planted cherry tomato plants with Daddy's help. They were more interested in the tools than the actual plants, I think. They do love being outside and prefer being barefoot! Faye has moved on from the toddler swings and now prefers to swing in the big swings. We hit the Aquarium almost every week and by far their favorite frog is Kermit in the car, they love to "drive, drive."! The last pics are of our morning downtown checking out the Olympic flame site (of course the flame is gone now) and the new Vancouver Convention Centre. Other highlights from our staycation are; swimming, the Play Palace (an arena with multiple jump houses, riding toys for kids and adults, slides, tunnels, balls, ping pong, etc.), eating at the nicest McDonald's in the world, Granville Island tunnels and ball pit, riding the bus, riding the skytrain, Science World, plaisir sucre (yum yum) and cloud 9 (wow what a view). Enjoy...

Love all of the pics and your stories. The staycation looked awesome. The girls are absolutely adorable and continue to change every time we see their pics. Life is pretty much the same around here. I have learned that you start to lose sleep again when your children get older. The problem is - I'm older too. I told Katie the other day that I had to get more than 5 hours or I was going to get really cranky. You can imagine her precious comment in return - apparently she thinks I am cranky all the time(with or without sleep). can you imagine?
Love you all - Julie
